By some fluke we were born with the capacity to love and to feel and to show compassion. What matter what happens after we die? I have no control over that. Love is real and compassion for my fellow person is attainable, doable now.
At present, none of the major religions of the world, be it Christianity, Islam or Judaism are presenting themselves in a very good light.
Love does not have the capacity to bomb. Love does not have the capacity to strike terror. Love does not have the capacity to ignore the suffering of the hungry, the homeless, the poor.
For some reason, some who call themselves Christians can. Some who call themselves Muslims can. Some who call themselves Jews can. There is so much hatred in the world and it seems to be directed from practitioners of one belief system towards those of another.
Who in the hell do we think we are? God, if there is, must surely be grieving at the misery his children cause in His/Her name.
